System Administration

Systems Administration may encompass numerous specific tasks related to such applications areas as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange Server, Domain Name Server, TCP/IP, Web Servers, Web Pages, Microsoft Active Directory, Network Protocols, SQL Server, and others.  Our extensive background in systems administration as well as systems engineering and integration can be brought to bear on problems which may arise. 

Application Support 
SEIDCONs goals and capabilities in this area are to:

  • Help maintain and sustain legacy applications;
  • Provide technical assistance and consultant services to users;
  • Modify, support, and maintain local application programs and databases, as tasked;
  • Perform impact analysis and create audit trails for local apps and databases;
  • Modify, support, and maintain local unique applications; and,
  • Thoroughly understand each application, its functions, its users, and the interfaces and bridges involved.

SEIDCON assists customers in modifying local applications programs and databases to best support their requirements. In the past, we have found that these generally tend to be Oracle, SQL Server, MS Excel, MS Access, Java, and VB applications. SEIDCON has experience in these areas with our support contracts and has available the web expertise capable of redesigning data, building operational access application prototypes, and web-enabling applications if required. 

Providing efficient, seamless, responsive, and fully integrated cross-domain support to ensure that our customers needs are met during continuous routine, emergency or unique situations is a basic requirement of electronic messaging administration. SEIDCON’s support for electronic messaging encompasses cradle-to-grave responsibility and accountability for all aspects, thus greatly enhancing the overall operations and support to messaging customers.

We provide comprehensive message server administration through continuous monitoring of all servers; upgrading software and hardware components to improve server efficiency, reliability and flexibility; and troubleshooting hardware and software to the single component or module. All server systems are engineered to enhance fault tolerance, provide remote operation capabilities; allow for automated detection of network- or server-related problems; and automatically notify the server administrator of critical failures within the system. Continual enhancements of server tools provide the network administrators the capabilities to conduct software uploading and maintenance, provide virus definitions, and integrate system enhancements through push technology in a background environment. This technology creates significant savings in manpower and downtime for our customers.

Data backup, recovery, and warehousing are provided to ensure any risk of data loss is minimized. This will be accomplished through scheduled backups of servers and, where possible, using RAID technology for critical systems.
